About Me

About Me

_TF08891.JPG

Hi! I'm Faith Gingrich Goetz-Isaacs (previously Faith Gingrich-Goetz -- I married my wife in March 2022!) and multi-hypenate describes much more than just my last name! I am an actor, comedian, playwright, director, and choreographer that has been performing, creating, and telling stories for my entire life (but officially since I was 7)! However, most importantly, I am someone that brings a robust collection of 90+ holiday sweaters, earnest and sincere passion for civil rights advocacy, and serious Lesbian Camp Counselor Energy wherever I go!

I often say that I am guided by the George Bernard Shaw quote,

"I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the community, and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. Life is no 'brief candle' to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to the future generations."

Whether it is through creating art or being a lifelong activist, I have always felt that I have a duty as a community servant. This informs every job that I do and provides a purpose to ground myself in.

was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and am happy to have moved back in 2019 and be based in The Queen City again! I grew up training and performing around town at College-Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Know Theatre of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Actor's Studio and Academy, and many more! I am so tremendously grateful to have grown up surrounded by and supported by such a thriving performing arts scene where I was able to receive top-notch training throughout my childhood!

Most recently, I was seen as Cordelia in Falsettos with Cincinnati Music Theatre at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, Agnes in She Kills Monsters with Village Players of Ft. Thomas, Agent Clarice Starling in SILENCE! The Musical with Center Stage Players, Teen Ensemble in The Prom with Cincinnati Music Theatre at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, Gender Expression "G.E." in Gender? F*ck! at Cincy Fringe Festival, Regina in Rock of Ages with Center Stage Players, and Naomi in Esther Made Me Do It with The Ghostlight Stage Company as a part of the One Act Double Feature held as part of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's Arts & Culture Incubator!

I attended the University of Kentucky, where I received a B.A. in Theatre and Dance. During this time, I honed in on my growing love for playwriting, especially documentary playwriting. My senior capstone play, The Next Generation, was a commentary about what it is like to be in the first LGBTQ generation "post-HIV/AIDS epidemic" and the continued criminalization of HIV in a majority of states. This experience inspired me to attend the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, where I focused primarily on Civil Rights Law (specifically re: the LGBTQ community) and political campaigns/political organizing! Since returning to Cincinnati, I have made a name for myself as an outspoken civil rights leader, political leader, and nonprofit professional! For example, I worked directly with Cincinnati City Council to draft and pass the recent gender-neutral restroom ordinance that applies to all places of public accommodation in the City of Cincinnati!

I proudly currently work as the Assistant Director of the LGBTQ+ Center at the University of Cincinnati. When I am not creating/appreciating art or trying to change the world, I can be found: running while listening to funny celebrity memoirs to prepare for my next race; reading non-fiction books; hiking/camping with my wife, Tatum, and our dog, Thatcher; or watching movies alone in theatres (Esquire or Mariemont Theatre - my Cincy favorites - or The Kentucky Theatre - my Lexington favorite where I proposed to Tatum)!

"I can say with full confidence that [Title of Memoir] is one of the best productions I’ve seen. Not just at Fringe, but in my lifetime. It is a crime that this show was only showing for one weekend.

Faith takes us on a journey through her life, focusing mostly on her mental health. Her set was full of a bunch of random stuff, very maximalist. She has kept anything and everything that she has created over the years, which is something I really resonate with as a chronic junk journal-er. This show was hilarious. It was incredibly well written and the delivery of her jokes were done so well, especially considering the darker subject matter. Faith shows the audience her willingness to laugh at herself, and her desire to make others laugh with her. So many of her bits were performed with such ease; there were moments where I wasn’t sure if things were scripted or if she was improving. Whether it was scripted or not, it was funny. There were frequent comedic commercial breaks throughout the show, which I think were a wonderful touch. There were moments where the transitions were rather abrupt, but I think that added to the comedic value. This show wasn’t just funny, though. It was incredibly heartwarming. She shared the ups and downs of her life, the good and the bad. She would joke about some things, but it’s important to acknowledge that not everything can be funny all the time. It’s okay to be vulnerable, and it’s okay to laugh. Faith found the perfect balance between seriousness and silliness." - Ella Widau, League of Cincinnati Theatres

“Faith Gingrich Goetz-Isaacs charmed me from their first moments on stage. They infused this character with so much energy and dedication that I totally believed everything she said and did. Thank you for a bright, warm, funny performance."

Reviewer

"Faith did a very nice job with this role! They put so much into a very frenetic character and the work paid off well. The character is also rather vulnerable at times, and they played those aspects quite well, too. They also have a lovely singing voice with clear diction and tone. [The character] could just be there for laughs, but the heart of the performer helped flesh the character out in interesting ways."

Reviewer

"The audience saw the truth in their actions and seemed to relish their choices."

Reviewer

“From the very beginning Faith Gingrich Goetz-Isaacs was in it to win it...Vocal quality was great. She was just such a joy to watch!"

Reviewer

"Wow, Faith was a true joy to watch on stage!...The second she said her first line, people said 'Oh my god she sounds just like [Jodie Foster]!"

Reviewer

"As the lead, Goetz-Isaacs brought so many levels to [the character]. She was funny, touching, and truly understood [the character's] world...Outstanding work."
